How We Do It

Midtown Assistance Center operates with a qualified staff and a core of trained community volunteers.

Each individual is screened by a MAC staff member over the telephone for eligibility and advised on the specific types of assistance the Midtown Assistance Center provides. After determiningĀ their needs, the client is scheduled for an appointment to meet with a trained volunteer or staff member.

The staff and volunteers pursue a full process of verification prior to any assistance. Among other things, we verify location of residence, length of time at that residence, and future or past employment.

Midtown Assistance Center diligently follows up with clients. This ensures that the funds have been utilized as intended. Through participation in the Pathways System and theĀ attentiveness of the staff, client tracking can be successfully achieved and duplication of aid among centers across Atlanta minimized.
