Volunteer

Our outreach is possible only with the help of an extensive volunteer network. Volunteers are the Midtown Assistance Center’s (MAC’s) human face. Clients come to us in dire straits, sometimes fearful or depressed, reaching out for help. More than anything, they need compassion, respect, and hopefulness. Our volunteers are noted – and appreciated – for having these qualities.

Volunteering at MAC usually involves direct client contact, the opportunity to dispense more than a MARTA token or a bag of food. You will often restore hope and lift spirits. MAC’s clients frequently express relief that our staffers care about their dignity at such a difficult time in their lives. Most likely, your spirits will be lifted as well.

Though most volunteers work with our clients, we can use many other human resources at MAC including people with data entry skills, computer or database skills, help in the food pantry and clothing closet, assistance with mailings, and more. If you’d like more information, give us a call at 404-681-0470 or drop us an email at mac@midtownassistancectr.org
